The International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint organization of the United Nations and World Trade Organization, has developed a new web platform called Standards Map that provides comprehensive and comparable information on sustainability standards and audit protocols, with the aim to strengthen the capacity of producers, exporters and buyers to participate in more sustainable production and trade. ITC collaborates with over 90 organizations that have developed standards systems, codes and reporting systems, among which systems is EcoVadis.

EcoVadis’ Global Compact study shows Discrepancies on Business Ethics and Sustainable Procurement Performance
Paris, July 25, 2012. EcoVadis releases today an exclusive study, which assesses the CSR performance of more than 500 Global Compact participants.
Among the main findings, EcoVadis has uncovered that Global Compact participants are relatively less prepared to tackle issues related to the Global compact’s 10th Principle against Corruption. It also warns that a majority of them still do not live up to minimum requirements for a satisfactory sustainable supply chain management system.

RENAULT chooses EcoVadis to manage the Sustainable Development performance of suppliers.
Today EcoVadis announced it has been selected by RENAULT to set up an innovative platform to assess the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) performance of the car manufacturer's suppliers.
On the 12th of May 2010, the purchasing directors of RENAULT and NISSAN have signed a CSR charter dedicated to suppliers. This charter defines the approach of the Alliance in terms of security and quality, human rights, environment, confidentiality and ethics, as well as defines what is required from suppliers regarding these subjects. This document has been presented on the 4th of June in Japan during a symposium gathering of 900 suppliers.

EcoVadis announced it has been selected by Accor to assess its suppliers on social and environmental performance.
After completing a risk map and prioritization of purchasing categories regarding Sustainable Development, EcoVadis has been asked in 2010 to implement a pilot project deployed on 50 of Accor’s strategic suppliers. In 2011, the objective is to extend the evaluation process to the groups’ suppliers through the « EcoVadis RA » risk analysis tool and the « EcoVadis SP » supplier platform evaluation tool.

"IBM announcement will fuel the growth of content providers like EcoVadis"
Last week, IBM announced a new CSR policy that mirrors some of the multi-tier supplier diversity strategies that have been around for over a decade. The main concept appears to be aimed at forcing suppliers to get serious about CSR policies. According to the announcement, "IBM's 'first-tier' suppliers -- those firms with which IBM holds a direct commercial relationship -- will now be required to establish and follow a management system to address their corporate and environmental responsibilities."
