EcoVadis leverages multiple data sources to ensure reliable ratings of your suppliers CSR practices. Results are available on an easy to use scorecard, shared online between clients and suppliers.

Online Questionnaire

After analyzing the supplier’s specific Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) issues, a customized questionnaire is sent to the supplier (20 to 50 questions- according to its company sector, size and countries of operation).

 

Document Audit

Based on the answers to the questionnaire, the supplier will be required to send in documents as supporting evidence of their answers (certifications, site audits, internal policies, etc.).

More than 300 reliable sources of information, including NGOs, press, trade unions, and other stakeholders, are checked to identify CSR positive or negative news about the supplier.


Expert Analysis

The accuracy of the EcoVadis analysis is the result of a robust methodology supervised by a scientific committee and tested on thousands of suppliers.

These 21 criteria are contained under four themes: Environment, Labor, Fair Business Practices and Sustainable Procurement. Only criteria that are relevant for your suppliers’ sector specific challenges are taken into account.

The methodology and criteria are in line with international CSR standards including the Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26 000.

Adapting the approach to each of your sourcing categories, (from “Road Freight” to “Specialty Chemicals” or “IT Outsourcing”) is critical in order to address specific social and environmental challenges. EcoVadis methodology is deployed on 150 commodities, covering each time commodity specific standards, regulations, and best practices.


140 Countries

EcoVadis database also includes specific country environmental and social profiles for 140 countries, allowing us to adapt the supplier’s evaluation to the particular risk associated to the location of manufacturing sites.
