EcoVadis partners with PricewaterhouseCoopers
After six months of collaboration, EcoVadis PricewaterhouseCoopers, announced today that they have signed a partnership to offer a complete range of services around, EcoVadis SP, the first platform for evaluating the environmental and social performance of suppliers, .
In a context of accelerated globalization of supply chains, companies are exposed to new risks related to environmental and social practices of their suppliers. Furthermore on European markets, the consumers demand for transparency and environmental quality of products continue to grow. It therefore becomes necessary to implement "Responsible Purchasing" programs. The new joint EcoVadis / PwC solution allows Procurement executives to reduce risk, and improve performance of their suppliers.
The PwC Advisory teams, are developping the regulatory and strategic watch associated to each spend category, at the heart of the assessment methodology supplier EcoVadis SP ©. They will also provide comprehensive support to large enterprises deploying EcoVadis © SP, including, integration in the purchasing process, change management, and support for international deployment. Sylvain Lambert, partner with PwC France says: "Buyers have a key responsibility to improve the environmental and social performance of their company. Now they must learn to control risks associated with social and environmental practices of their suppliers. "
EcoVadis operate the platform EcoVadis SP ©, integrating a Web-based software, and analysis service, which allows large companies to create a shared database, allowing them to assess the performance of their suppliers on 21 environmental criteria and social (from "CO2 emissions" to "child labor"), covering 150 families to purchase (from "promotional" to "packaging"), and in over 100 countries.
Pierre-Francois Thaler, co-founder of the company EcoVadis explains: "The year 2008 is placed under the sign of the control of global risks (Supply Chain, climate change, shortages of raw materials, ...), and we are witnessing a acceleration of projects for business, to assess the environmental and social performance of suppliers.
