NEW YORK and PARIS – May 17, 2016 – EcoVadis is proud to announce that it has been chosen by Spend Matters as a “Provider to Watch” in 2016!

As part of their online vendor directory of procurement software and servicesSpend Matters Almanac, each year Spend Matters reviews and selects two lists: “50 to Watch” and “50 to Know.”  The core Spend Matters team (Peter Smith, Pierre Mitchell, Andrew Karpie, Jason Busch, Michael Lamoureux and David Gustin) designs the lists to help procurement and supply chain teams speed their vendor research and selection process.

“It’s difficult — and getting even more so — to make Spend Matters’ 50/50 lists, and we’re thrilled EcoVadis made it onto the 2016 Spend Matters 50 to Watch list,” said Jason Busch, founder and head of strategy at Spend Matters. “This list is the product of intense, debate, discussion and refinement each year by our analysts. This year saw new coverage areas and increased competition among providers in existing segments. EcoVadis earned a deserved spot as one of the procurement providers worth getting to know in 2016.”

EcoVadis has experienced significant growth as announced in January which has helped secure its selection for the 50 to Watch list:

  • over 128% growth in the past two years
  • 68 new customers joining the network to assess their suppliers and subsidiaries
  • 80% growth in the number of suppliers renewing their subscription to the EcoVadis network
  • overall participation rising to more than 25,000 suppliers
  • 70 percent of suppliers improving their sustainability score upon re-assessment
  • Expansion of EcoVadis’ internal team to 250 full time employees, a 118 percent increase from 2013, across the company’s five global offices.

“We are very pleased to receive this recognition after rigorous analysis from the Spend Matters team,” added Pierre Thaler Co-CEO of EcoVadis. “They were among the first to recognize how procurement is evolving to include CSR and sustainability factors in the processes and tools for supplier management. The Spend Matters Almanac provides high-value perspective and guidance to their community.”
